Here are two videos from rehearsals at The Amadeus Centre in London, we are looking at body percussion, voice work and sounds created by movement and the violin.
Mardyah Tucker and Katie Keeble created the newly formed duo for musician and dancer"Scoop" in June 2009.They met working on a previous collaboration "Bodies of water".
Scoop is formed of structured improvisation, combining contemporary dance and free improvisation developing a sound scape from violin sound, vocals, body sound and body percusion fussed with interaction from the audience. The movement is contemporary free form responsive and interactive with sound.
In performance the audience find instructions that are distributed on small pieces of paper and a radio is in place to be adjusted which interjects an aliatoric choice of music, entering for unditermind lengths of time challenging the performers to adjust, bringing variable energies to the event.
